Tulane Move-In Guide for Parents, Fall Semester 2021

Tulane move-in is August 15 – 18, 2021 for first-year students and students new to Tulane. The University provides an approximately 12’ x 15’ room, MicroFridge, a single XL bed, a desk, and a chair.  Space is limited, so coordinate with the roommate, if possible, to avoid duplicating shareable items, like TVs, air purifiers, dishes, and utensils.

Things to bring…

  • Twin XL sheets
  • Twin sheets for Sharp Hall
  • Mattress pad
  • Towels
  • Pillows and blankets
  • Clothing
  • Hangers and organizers
  • Computer
  • Single-bulb lamps (LED bulbs preferred)
  • Ethernet cable
  • Room decor
  • Shower footwear or flip-flops

Don’t bring…

  • Refrigerators / Microwaves (MicroFridge is provided)
  • Amplified sound systems
  • Cooking appliances
  • Weapons (or ammunition)
  • Candles, incense, etc.
  • Drugs and illegal substances
  • Alcohol
  • Halogen / multi-bulb lamps
  • Air conditioners
  • Hookahs or other smoking devices
  • Pets that aren’t fish
  • Nails / screws
  • Waterbeds
